!!!!!!standby of all activities till november-december at least!!!!Sorry for this but have a nice woofing elsewhere in the meaning time!!! We are transforming a quasi desert little island on the mangrove called Bouillissor in a natural conservatory for biodiversity. Main work are: local trees planting, digging to retain rain water, building huts to observe animals, making paths around the island to safely visit the spot without disturbing animals. We also wish to test on little scale best ways to naturally dry salt, grow shrimps, oysters and fish...French, english, spanish, german (nearly) spoken: we will find a way to communicate! Eventually, we will also work in our private garden for vegetables and fruits production in Kafountine
Children: welcomed (vaccinated
Persons: No limits
Area: 2 km2
Organic Food: local products
Organic Principles: agroforestry, water gardening, salt production, garden
Bouillissor is a project for local sustainable development. Not only a garden but also a laboratory to test new technics or improve existing ones to take better advantage of local resources. This is minded to lower the precarity in this region. In particular, we are looking for people who have some knowledge in renewable energy, solar salt extraction, fish, oyster, or shrimps growing...Joining the team is not only having fun together for gardening under tropical conditions but also you will take an active part in the local development. Time off: if we are in Kafountine, a fisherman village on the coast, you will find a nice beach, a rich night life, music and danse, shops (pharmacy also). But if we are in Bouillissor, you will be very far from everything: some trekking, and also some visits to the main cities (Bignona or Ziguinchor) are possible... Casamance is a lovely region and we are sure you will like it and its so kind population.
